But it was the moment when CoJo let his producer Trent Willmon say a few words during his acceptance speech that made some big headlines. “It takes an army of people to make a great record, but I gotta tell ya, this is for this cowboy who’s been kicking shaboozey for a lot of years, y’all,” Willmon said in his curious speech. Fans on social media immediately assumed he was throwing shade at Shaboozey, the chart-topping, breakout country star who was nominated for New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year at the CMAs but went home empty handed.
